Attorney Job Description
eLegacy Law is an ambitious estate planning law firm that serves clients virtually across multiple states. As a completely virtual estate planning firm, our attorneys have the unique opportunity to work and live from anywhere. So, you can continue to use your license, even while living in another jurisdiction.
eLegacy is seeking to hire attorneys with three to five years of estate planning experience and who are licensed in one or more of the following jurisdictions: Oregon, Alaska, Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Colorado, Texas, or Utah. Licensing in additional jurisdictions is a bonus.
We are client-driven and seek to deliver the best service while cultivating a professional and fun work environment. As a market disrupter in the legal industry, we are eager to find individuals who are ready to be challenged. Our individual attorneys lead teams consisting of a dedicated paralegal and client relations coordinator as they assist eLegacy clients with the design and preparation of personalized, comprehensive estate plans.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be proficient in all aspects of traditional estate planning. Experience with probate, trust administration, Medicaid planning, complex and high-net-worth estates, and WealthDocx® drafting software is also a plus. You will need to be able to personally connect with clients, provide exceptional client service, lead and motivate team members, and thrive in a busy, team-oriented environment.
Job Duties
  • Leading your team with professionalism, enthusiasm and a client-centric attitude
  • Drafting concise, professionally written legal documents and correspondence
  • Preparing and reviewing estate planning documents
  • Meeting with clients, advisors, and other professionals to design, draft and implement estate plans and strategies (via phone or virtually)
  • Supervising your team (paralegal and client relations coordinator)
  • Communicating with clients, financial advisors and other third parties to coordinate funding of trusts and making appropriate designations under retirement plans and insurance policies
  • Other duties as assigned
Desirable Qualifications
  • J.D. and licensing in relevant state(s)
  • 3-5 years of estate planning experience
  • Experience with trust administration, probates, Medicaid planning, complex and high-net-worth estates is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, estate planning drafting software, CRM software, and client management software
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong listening skills and ability to connect with clients on a personal, emotional level
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple matters within predictable deadlines and exhibit exceptional organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
Working Hours:
8am-5pm PST Monday through Friday (Office closed to clients on Fridays 12pm-5pm PST). Some schedule flexibility is possible.
